"Lines In The Sand has brought to light what the Armenian people
went through during WWI. To me, it was a very informative and intimate
look at a subject I knew little about! I got to know the families..their
triumphs and defeats and the atrocities that were unfairly bestowed
upon them. I read this book in less than two days! I felt many emotions
when reading this book and couldn't put it down! I recommend this
book to anyone!"

I have read this novel on the Armenian genocide and I found it to
be enthralling. Not many people know about the genocide of 1.5 million
Armenians by the Ottoman Turks from 1896-1923. Not only ethnic Armenians
but Assyrians and Greeks of Turkey were annihilated and 'ethnically
cleansed' from their historic homeland. The Turkish government has
never admitted nor apologized for the events of this time period.
After reading this novel, one can't help but wonder what the current
Turkish government is thinking! Lines in the Sand brings the story
of the Armenians of that era and place to life. Entwined with the
story of the main characters is what was going on militarily during
World War I. Very good story Mr. Ohanian!
